Highways

The high rate of mobility in the Netherlands puts high demands on the quality and availability of the main highway network. About 3 million car drivers join the Dutch traffic daily. Summed up, they are responsible for 165 million driven kilometres a day. That’s over 61,5 billion kilometres a year. A challenge for Rijkswaterstaat, as being the Dutch infrastructure manager, to guide the traffic as fluently and safe as possible.

Rijkswaterstaat is responsible to maintain a safe and sustainable infrastructure. Thereby we cooperate with the public and related organisations as (semi-)governments and other partners.
